Several food vendors are ready for business on the west side of the river along Wyman Street during this time.

Some of the parade participants have included the Rockford Police Color Guard, City of Rockford Pipeband, Rockford Park District Police, Little Miss & Mr. 4th of July Winners & Contestants, War veterans, Boys and Girls Club of Freeport, Rock River Valley Girl Scouts, Clan MacAlpine Pipes & Drums of Rockford, American Youth Soccer Organization, and many, many others.

Honorary Parade Grand Marshal

This years Grand Marshal is Dr. Bill Gorski, President & CEO of the SwedishAmerican Health System. Dr. Gorski has
shown exceptional concern for the Rockford community and the result is a much better city to live and work in. 2011 marks the 100 Year Anniversary for the SwedishAmerican Health System. Congratulations!

Parade Rules

1.    No throwing of any objects including candy or political propaganda along the parade route will be permitted.

2.   An American Flag must be displayed on or in your parade unit. Your parade unit MUST be of a PATRIOTIC nature! Occult or Non-Patriotic units will not be allowed in this parade!!

3.   No signs will be allowed to be carried or displayed as part of your parade unit that insults, belittles or embarrasses any individual or organization.

4.   No Active Political campaigning will be allowed in any division other than the division that is termed “Political Division!”

5.    Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts must be in full uniform with American Flags as part of their unit.

6.  There is a $100.00 entry fee for all businesses.
